Kate's First Vacation!

We spent a couple days and went to Steamboat Springs, CO for a taste of vacation with Kate. As you might imagine we learned very quickly that vacationing with a newborn is quite a bit different than vacationing before we were blessed with her presence. We did spend the majority of our time changing diapers and feeding her, but in the mean time we were able to see some great scenery, take a hike by Steamboat Lake and eat a few meals out. All in all it was a nice time, but with every vacation we were glad to get home! Here are some shots of our hike...

And she's at an easy age!! Last December we were on our way to CO and stayed overnight in a hotel. After we ate dinner (in the room, we avoid sit down meals in public at all costs) and got everyone in pj's, we turned off the lights and tried to get everyone to sleep. Mary didn't last long in the crib, but wouldn't quiet down in a bed. She was insane!!! By 11 pm Jim drove around Hays, KS until she fell asleep.

For the return drive home, we chose to drive straight through.

Yeah, traveling with infants isn't exactly a piece of cake (even if Kate is at an "easy" age...)!!!!
