The Name Game!

So - we do have some names that we really like, and we're planning to meet our little lady before making our final decision on her name. BUT, Ciara had the great idea to use this blog as a way to open it up to suggestions. If you think we really ought to consider a certain name or if you just want to throw out an idea for fun - here's your chance. The most intriguing suggestion we've gotten so far is "Sacajowea"!!! I told that suggester that we'd consider it, but not to get his hopes up! I'm excited to see if anyone makes any suggestions!

When I was pregnant with Izzie and doing that endless search for names, I came across one that blew my mind. Jim and I decided that name would be the one we told people if we wanted to really scare them. I'll share it with you and you're welcome to use it but only for shock value.

Obiajulu, I think it is used for boys, but it means "the heart is consoled". A good meaning, but probably not the style you're going for!

Man. I still think Huckleberry is the coolest name, but it'd be for a duder.
I still like the diversity option. Something like KatherinelizabethAnnabellalexandra.
Either way, I think the middle name ought to be something embarrassing like pussywillow. My kids are gonna hate me

Wow - a middle name like pussywillow - you're most likely to be raising a serial killer if you go and do something like that! Good luck with that one, Mateo!

I don't know if Jim told you our girl name for #3 or not, but even though we're done with making more, I just can't part with the name! I have that voice in my head saying "You never know...."

Whatever name you pick, take a moment and picture that child using the name as an infant, school-aged child, teenager, twenty-someing, as a CEO and as an old lady in a nursing home. If the name works at all stages, then its a good one. Some names are so cute when they're little, but don't work so well as a CEO. (I won't list any as to not offend anyone, but just think of your local strippers name)

Or on the flip side, I have always felt a bit sorry for the 6 year olds with old man/woman names. They spend most of their life as adults, but still, you don't want your kid to deal with image problems so early on!

Cheers

I just remember hearing Kristin say at the shower "I like 'Drew'" and yeah, it really did sound good. Nancy Drew Amelia Bedelia whatever, but I really liked "Drew."

oh yeah! And there's nothing wrong with 4 or 5 names either. That's really cool I think, if you can't decide on just one.
